Noosa Boardriders Club
1968-2026
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Noosa Boardriders Club has a proud history dating back to 1968, when our founding president Peter Troy brought together a group of surfers with a shared passion for the ocean. That spirit is still at the heart of everything we do today……connection, community and a love of surfing.
As we move forward, our focus is firmly on the future of the club and the next generation of surfers. With over 170 members and a strong junior base, Noosa Boardriders continues to grow as a place where young surfers can develop their skills, build confidence and feel part of something special.
This year also marks an exciting milestone for the club, with our first Noosa Boardriders surfer, Ben Lorentson, qualifying for the Challenger Series in 2026. This is a reflection of the pathways we are building and the talent coming through our ranks. It’s something the whole club can be proud of and a great inspiration for our younger surfers.
We are particularly proud of the work we are doing to support junior development across the club. From our youngest surfers finding their feet in the ocean, through to our Girls Development Squad and competitive pathways, we are creating opportunities for all surfers to progress in a supportive and inclusive environment. Keeping girls engaged in surfing, especially through their teenage years, is a key priority for us and something we are continuing to invest in.
Behind the scenes, we are also working to strengthen the club’s future through improved systems, better event delivery and investment in equipment that supports our volunteers and enhances the experience for members. As a volunteer-run club, this progress is only possible through the commitment of our community and committee.
We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, supporters and volunteers who give their time, energy and resources to make it all happen. Your support allows us to run quality events, create development opportunities and continue building a club we are all proud of.
These are exciting times for Noosa Boardriders Club. We’re building on a strong foundation and shaping a future that supports our surfers both in and out of the water.
Thank you for your continued support.
